I couldn't have predicted how interesting and PURELY ENTERTAINING your lecture would be ("Lecture" doesn't seem like the right word, but you know what I mean). You gave those kids something that they could never get from a textbook or treatise and my faith in the education system (at least at NYU) was elevated, seeing that they understand the need to address practical career matters as well as music theory.
Selfishly, I am glad I went not just because I enjoyed it so much, but my wife (Samantha) and I had a dinner at a friend's home last night and I had plenty to share with them and their kids over dinner.
